The
Papaya Resort directly faces the Indian Ocean
where this marvelous natural bay, which is considered a Marine Park is
closely guarded by the Keniote authorities. Everything here is uncontaminated. Every day at low tide you can take tranquil walks (with a pair of suitable shoes) around the naturals pools, which are actual aquariums with: star fish, shell fish and tropical fish. |
|
Meanwhile, the Eagle Rays position themselves on the rocks by the seashore and wait for high tide in order to catch some tasty fish. |
The
Papaya is a small but quaint Hotel
and is the perfect place for a tranquil vacation without the confusion of
the typical tourist village with hundreds of guests and "animation"
at all costs. You will appreciate the real african atmosphere here.
It is situated a few meters from the ocean and also has a beautiful salt-water pool which is filtered and well tended by a staff of local who are simple, frinedly and always at your disposition without ever being too intrusive. |
This little piece of Africa is undoubtably magical. It is a place where time seems to stand still........you will definately feel at peace with yourself. There are 8 rooms (doubles and matrimonial) that are furnished in a style that is typically african such as canopy beds with mosquito nets. Every room has it's own bathroom with a shower and little balcony with a gorgeous view of the ocean. The Bar ed il Restaurant-Pizzeria of La Papaya Hotel is open to the public. |
|
Although the cuisine is typically Italian,
it is enriched with products that derive from the African and Indian
cultures. |
